I understand somewhat of what you’re going through, I used to do the same thing with my OCD and getting my nails done was the only way to help with my nail biting. You could get your nails done and wear gloves all day, or you can get something natural and short so they might not notice it.

get a gel mani that looks like natural nails or even sns which technically isn't even polish and lasts forever.

woah i literally have been having this same issue and talked to my boyfriend about it just today!!

i end up biting so low and my nails end up tearing on the edges off the nailbed, boy does it hurt! i've thought about either putting on clear nail polish so it at least is a little ickier to bite, or wearing bandaids on my fingers?

it would...look kinda silly since its multiple lol but idk what else would really help. we are in this together though!

If you’re going to go with clear polish, I would recommend getting it done in gel- that way, it’s less likely to chip off in the food since gel tends to last longer and be more resistant. Sometimes if I don’t do clear gel, I’ll get a gel manicure with acrylics, and then do a French tip or perfect nude and I haven’t had any problems so far! I hope you find something!
