My store has whoever is on register activate the entire box when they come in and we then split them between hand off and register. Anyone can give one out to "make the moment right".

Yes.

It’s definitely in the scope of barista responsibility

I’ve been with the store for over a year and my manager has made it very clear that baristas have to go through the ssv first and we only keep them in the front till that is assigned to the supervisor for the shift.

Our store only lets SSVs do it

Depends on the store. I dont know the actual rule but from what I’ve seen some stores are super strict and some aren’t. Only one of our ssv’s has ever told me that next time I need to go through them. The rest don’t care. You could ask your sm the question and then they can replay it during their next ssv meeting so everyone is on the same page at your store

I thought barista training said only SSV+ were able to hand them out, but I'll definitely be checking Monday with all the replies here 😯

Our unofficial training slogan used to be “make the moment right” as presented by corporate so technically it can be whoever. It’s more meant to be an ‘end all’ solution if the problem can’t be fixed another way.
Our mission is to provide everyone with access to large- scale community websites for the good of humanity. Without ads, without tracking, without greed.
