real talk, i regret ever applying for starbucks. (self.starbucksbaristas)

WHY am i continuing to put myself through this torture? at what fucking point will i decide i’ve finally had enough? everything is about “business needs” but what about OUR needs? why do I have to give up time with my family because you decided it was a smart decision to extend hours knowing we don’t have the staff to accommodate those extra hours?
i just want a fucking *life*. i can’t do shit. i can’t make plans because i get home too late. i haven’t seen family in MONTHS. my store manager acts like the store will fall apart if i’m not there every fucking day. i’m so tired of bullshit excuses why i can’t change my availability.
i hate this company. it makes me fucking sick. i wonder how she’ll meet her “business needs” after i quit.

Yup.
I’m now in hot water because I told some people who came in looking for a job that we were hiring. Our schedule had 3 labeled „open shifts“ slots from when we lost three people going into summer. My manager told me personally that „nobody wants to work“.
It’s honestly laughable how bad managers treat baristas and supervisors. They act like we’re replaceable without any time for training while we have a very good example of what happens when you staff a store full of new hires and don’t train them 10 minutes away in our district.
I feel like everything is bumped up about 10x because I’m the leading union organizer at our store and have been helping another store in our district organize. It’s almost as if I have a bounty on my head now and I can never do anything right.

i’m not part of the union organization at my store but i’ve made it clear i’m very pro-union 🫠 in hindsight that was a bad idea. i have a feeling this is why she’s being such an asshole right now about things, because our election date is in a couple weeks and she knows it’s almost guaranteed that we’ll get it.

Our new manager is like this and it makes me so anxious. Shes really passive aggressive about things but blows up at me for calling out days in advance when others no call no show all the time. I miss our old manager
