Hey, another SSV here! I worried about the same exact thing. If you are the only SSV on shift, it’s best to stay inside in case anything happens. If you have another SSV that’s on shift with you as a barista, i think it’s then okay to go to your car to decompress! I hope you’re doin good today! Just make sure to let them know your plan and have them cover you if they can!

you are allowed to leave for your lunch. if they required you to stay they’d have to pay you.

to my knowledge, you can be gone no longer than 30m for your lunch. our ssvs would go to the car so they were close if needed for an emergency

This and maybe make sure they have your number if they need it! If going to your car helps then go, I think it’s just as important for you to be able to leave as long as your car is near by I think it okay

You are not required to stay inside for your meal break UNLESS that would only leave one partner in the building. If you DO have to stay inside for that reason, your meal should be written in the DRB and paid, not punched out on the iPad.
Also, if you have to do any work on a break (30 or 10) your break restarts (for meals you still only lose 30 unpaid minutes, but the time you get to sit restarts)
This info is in the partner guide!

Are you a drive thru store and can keep your headset on in your car?

Shifts are allowed to leave the building if they are on a break... unless there are only two people working, in which case both need to stay in the building so the breaks would be paid since you can't leave.

Since 10s are paid breaks I would stay inside for those if you don’t have another SSVs or manager around.
Lunches aren’t paid, so you can leave and do whatever you want. Sit in your car. Drive somewhere. Take your headset off. You aren’t being paid.
