There is nothing more infuriating than someone mobile ordering and instantly showing up in the DT or lobby as the stickers are printing. They usually are very understanding, but does this irk anyone else? Like, why not order in the DT or the cafe ??
Am I overreacting 🫠

it’s very frustrating when they come through the DT cause it slows things down because bar 2 is working on mobile/cafe/delivery and bar 1 is working on DT so it gets confusing. i kinda get it though, like some people would rather not have to talk to anyone or take the time to physically pay, so mobile ordering allows for a quick, clean interaction. that’s the only reason i could think of why someone would do that, but sometimes people come through the DT saying they just placed a mobile order and would like to add to it so it’s kinda like, defeats the purpose? idk, whatever makes them happy ig

i realized sometimes people forget their payment method at home and have it saved in the app so that’s why they mobile orde, but it still makes no sense to place it IN the drive thru line.

no yeah and then they get mad that it’s not made the second they get to the window and it’s like babe mobile orders are not prioritized like that, we get the ticket when we get the ticket

Mobile ordering experience is completely opposite to Starbucks core values. Example being most mobile ordering customers don’t want the customer focused interaction partners give. Although, when this mobile order experience happens there is a tension between the customer. Partners must provide a positive experience which is more often than not impossible unless the customer is understanding of the situation.

and it sucks cause aren’t these the main people who complete surveys for customer connection scores? i stg it’s rigged. we are always understaffed and don’t have a dedicated handoff. this past month we have had spot outages of frap roast and frappuccinos get us a lot of labor hours, so we have been understaffed and trying to regain labor hours so we are properly staffed. it sucks here it’s like a never ending cycle, this company has no idea what it’s doing

I really don’t understand the logic behind it.

We have people that literally sit in the lobby and Mobile order instead of coming to the register
