I used to work in an actual Sbux store that did have all syrups as “sugar-free” and even just the syrup (no sweetener at all). The syrups were all in lipstick-sized bottles that had the flavor concentrate, then we had a normal syrup-sized bottle for sugar-free sweetener and another for normal sweetener. So, you could order sugar-free caramel, or just caramel without any sweetener. I even have the Sbux T-shirt they gave us to celebrate the new system.
Btw, this was almost three years ago. I was told we were a “test region.” Perhaps they’re still testing that out, which could explain the sugar-free syrup part you’re talking about.

This might explain why people sometimes try to order a flavored coffee from me and then ask if there is going to be sweetener in it?? Like in my experience the flavors are only sweeteners. Truly eye opening thank you

A DM told me they were developing or testing them when they discontinued most the sugar free syrups. Never heard anything since then and thought he might have been pulling my leg.

They probably wanted to keep the menu very simple. If you think today’s Tik-Tok drinks are horrendous, wait until you get:
A venti iced brown sugar shake espresso six pumps brown sugar syrup flavor, five pumps caramel syrup flavor, six pumps vanilla, 10 pumps sugar free sweetener, 4 pumps regular sweetener, etc…

When I worked there six years ago there were all the sugar free syrups but I don’t remember the mini no sugar syrups. So relax.

My question for all of the TikTok baristas… when do you have time to record these?? My store is so busy, even at our slower times I can’t imagine just focusing on one TikTok drink and not having to do multiple customer drinks at the same time.
I would love to make videos of different drink creations because at my store, we like experimenting with things, but we would never have the time to record it as well

before our remodel, we were out of most of our product because obviously we aren’t ordering anything, so people started to catch on and there were times where we wouldn’t have a car in drive for 30 mins-an hour. also usually sunday mornings before 8 are reallllly slow, and sometimes at night we can be super slow and then the customers come in large waves. those are just some of the times that pop into my head.
i wish i could record stuff too! usually we just record time lapses on the ipads and videos. but it would be so fun to make tik toks like that

YES!! I work in a liscenced store and we get so many people asking for tiktok drinks or stuff we don’t have and then they are like “oh well this person who works in a liscenced store said you can do it” like no. no i can not.

i know at our store we have drinks marked as (barista) drinks so that they know they cant get it anywhere else!! but we are way too busy to just be makin tiktoks
