Personal espresso machine (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Rough-Reveal-4763
Hey y’all, I’m trying to find a good espresso machine to have at home. My problem is that most affordable ones have automatic milk frothers rather than a milk wand that lets you manually steam the milk to perfect. As a barista, I’ve grown to be very particular about how I steam milk for my own hot drinks. Anyone know good espresso machines that would feel comfortable for a barista? (Anything that isn’t over 500 bucks…) thanks!

Breville bambino maybe?

It's not a commercial level machine, just a small guy for the counter at home so it won't have all the same features. But if you're just looking to pull shots and manually steam your milk, it'll do that.

I have this and the Breville smart grinder (around $500 together before tax I believe) and it is pretty good. OP will have to fiddle around a lot to find the right grind size and ratios and all that, and the steam wand is very different than what we are used to at Starbucks, but it works great!

It definitely looks like something I’d be happy with

I bought myself a breville barista express when I quit Starbucks. I bought mine for $520 on Amazon.

I have a Breville Barista Pro (a little outside of your 500$ budget, as it retails for around 799) but it is great. After calibrating for a while, you can consistently get espresso that is great quality! The steam wand works great too. If you can find one used, or are open to stretching your budget a bit I would highly recommend!

Thank you! Having a couple names to check out for myself really helps~

I bought a espressione concierge for less than $300 , works great but the frother is ok ig or maybe I’m just not used to using that type of frother correctly :/
