Hello all!

This might be a bit of a long shot, but here we go. For context: I am a former employee in the US (left August 2020 after over a year with the company), and my hours were cut by Starbucks from June-August of 2020 due to Covid-19 related circumstances. Everything was fine, and I carefully reported my earnings each week in my weekly statement to the North Carolina Unemployment website and received my benefits. The state randomly audited some old unemployment accounts (my claim has been inactive for almost two years now) and found a discrepancy between my reported hours and the hours that Starbucks reported (Starbucks reported VERY incorrectly for two weeks, causing it to look like an overpayment, as they reported my earnings far too high). I called the Partner Resource Center, and they confirmed that the hours that I had reported at the time were, in fact, correct and that what they had reported was wrong, and I asked to have that in writing. They have refused this request numerous times without giving me any reason, despite my repeated requests for a policy or other reason that is preventing me from receiving it in writing. I have escalated it over and over again, and they are refusing me very simple documentation of days and hours worked, despite giving it out freely over the phone a few separate times. It feels very (for lack of a better word) shady, and I was wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience? It was very clearly their error, and they are refusing to give me the information I need to back up my dispute and appeal with the state. I can't help but feel like they are trying to cover their ass because now they owe money to the state and federal government due to blatant misreporting of my earnings, and if it was a more widespread issue, their very dodgy responses would make a lot more sense to me.

Thank you for reading, and I'm sorry if anyone else is going through the same thing.
