What motivates you? Your teammates? Manager praise/recognition? Knowing your paycheck is coming? Happy customers? etc...

My personal pride in doing a good job.

This. I was born and raised on a farm, and was always taught if you're going to do a job, then do it right, and do it well. If you're doing it, then it's worth doing. If not, find something you CAN take pride in doing.

Personal pride in doing a good job and my teammates/fellow partners. Being part of a team at my store is a wonderful feeling for me, I enjoy supporting them and them supporting me back as we work towards a unified goal. Being part of a team is so much fun, and I prefer it much more over independent work.

My coworkers bursting out in random songs together in the middle of peak.

Sometimes it's Beyonce, sometimes it's Disney, sometimes it Christmas

teammates! i like to say one of them pavlov’d me with verbal appreciation and validation, hearing that he thought i did a good job and thanking me for my work legit made me want to come back. sometimes i feel like i can do that for newbies so i think i’ve really seen an improvement in my own confidence from being around a supportive crew

Knowing that I’m doing better than I was the week before, positive customer interactions help too. My manager rarely if ever praises me but I just keep on doing me and improving and looking for ways to grow daily.

Encouraging my other partners and uplifting them. If you’re with a good team they’ll start doing it back. Having genuine connections with customers

The sweet rush of dopamine when pulling tickets. And I do enjoy connecting with (some) customers. I thrive on routine and structure so it’s nice to be busy.
But ultimately? The paycheck.

the pay and knowing I might be going away soon for a bit
