customer shocked and upset that person ahead of them in line got their drink first(self.starbucksbaristas)

I can't tell you how many times a day I have this conversation
Me: I have a [drink] for [name] on the bar! Customer: this isn't what I order Me: are you [name]? Customer: no. Me: this drink is for the person who ordered ahead of you. Customer: *scoffs as if I said something offensive*

As a customer, my favourite is walking into a packed Starbucks once my mobile order notification has gone off and being in and out in like 15 seconds getting all the glares. I always pipe up a thank you to all busy baristas, but if any customers start being huffy I add “I love how your mobile order tells me when my drink is ready, not waiting is awesome!”

That's when i usually just look for their ticket and say "yours is [drink/order number] in the queue right now, I'll call your name when it's ready." and they still act all huffy and puffy but at least they'll get out of your face usually.

Yeah I'll usually say something like that too but boy working this job has really shown how many people think they're center of the universe.

Goddamn, i feel that. You can tell when they truly think *they* are the main character and we are just NPCs doing our silly little tasks and idle animations in their heroic journey.

Lol ive gotten that before from a customer who ordered a frapp during rush in the morning and from another lady who ordered 4 shots over ice with some modifications. Both different times but some of their words were "why is everybody getting their drinks before me"....umm maybe cuz u got 4 shots over ice with mods and ur shots r pulling so im making other quick cafe orders in the meantime. And also others mobile ordered before u and cafe ordered before u. Then with the frapp lady, she was literally standing against the counter right at the hand off blocking anyone else from grabbing their drink from me. So i finished this 1 guys drink who ordered BEFORE HER and put it on the counter and I said "excuse me this is for the guy behind you" just so she could feel like an entitled jerk. But she didn't move at all but I purposely put it on the middle of the counter so that she could see she's not the only person on this planet when the guy goes to grab his drink. But he also had to extend his arm around her to grab his drink and he also said excuse me and she didn't move. Then he grabs his drink and leaves and the lady says to me "how come he got his drink before me?" ...umm maybe cuz he ordered before u. Like couldnt u think of that before opening ur mouth and blurting that out?? But that's what I told her, I told her that he ordered before her and that we are busy and she said " I don't care it shouldn't take that long"

I love when I put a frap on the bar and someone with a totally different name comes up to me saying something like "excuse me i ordered a tall pike" like yes miss that's coming right up you just happen to not be the only person in my cafe rn. It doesn't even look like your drink and they be like "oh that's not mine"... I know 🙄

i had a guy a few days ago get mad that a drink came out before his /as my worker was handing his drink to him/ and i just looked at him and said “sorry we make the drinks in the order they come through so if we called out an order for someone that came here after you it was probably a mobile order” like sorry dude you aren’t the only person i have to serve
edit: i don’t even remember if it was a mobile order bc i was filling the ice but even if it wasn’t a mobile order if the shots for your is being pulled we’re gonna be working on another ticket so we aren’t wasting time so i’m sorry if your drink comes out slower than an iced tea but that’s how it is sometimes deal with it
