So im new to starbucks and ive kinda noticed a pattern with some regulars. They are the older demographic (thats fine idc) but what bothers me is how they expect me to know their orders by heart the second the walk in. Or like ill ask what they want to ring it up and they look at me in disbelief they need to use their words. Its just ridiculous like why would I remember YOUR drink out of so many orders i take. I know them now but gosh a little patience would be nice. Anyone else experienced this?

i get this, i have so many regulars who go “hey it’s ___” at the drive thru box expecting me to remember and it’s so annoying to me. i refuse to remember regulars orders if they expect it from me but for some reason my simple joy is surprising regulars who don’t expect it with me remembering their order (i tell them i’ll probably forget so they don’t expect it) it’s just so fun to watch them realize we are both sentient

hit their entitled behinds with the "yeah well i probably take hundreds of orders a day so unfortunately it might take me a while to remember one!!!!"
it's the confusion of are you just being nice?? or are you being passive aggressive??? that makes me satisfied

Pretty sure people remember their orders more quickly so they can interact with them as little as possible. We have a lot like that that just get a tall hot coffee and people start it when they come in the door, so it can be handed off and they're back out the door.

Literally like i see them and its like you again i remember them bc they make me feel bad not bc of their order LOL

We had this happen today. One of our new hires was on till and a regular with a kind of complicated Frappuccino just says "oh just write down it's my order, x and y will know how to make it". 90% of the time I forget how to make it and like it's not helping the new hires learn???

YeAh and its not like they get anything simple like you said like bro come on

Oh this. I have a very bad memory for faces, so unless you come in literally everyday? I will forget. And people get so angry? I explain that I see hundreds of people everyday and apologise.
