I agree about asking questions. I asked “what the most challenging part about the transition from barista to shift was” and my manager said she really liked that question and she didn’t hear it often.

The number one thing that will make you stand out against everyone else is bringing your resume. It doesn’t matter that you’re already hired with Starbucks, it shows them you’re serious about what you want and how you approach formal situations like an interview. Seriously this is something every manager will comment on and make you memorable against other candidates. Update the resume with your experience as a barista, use it as a talking point throughout the interview to highlight your skills.

They have one specific question at the end that asks something about asking a customer ways your store can improve or something along those lines. I think asking customers that will give you a jump start because every time I have interviewed someone they can’t answer that question which is fine but it may be impressive for your manager to see!
