do you know how much easier my life would be if we had these types of tea bags instead of the ones with strings…(i.redd.it)

People would complain because it wouldn't be as easy to remove the teabags. Never forget the average intelligence of your customer base.

today some lady ordered an iced coffee with cream, vanilla, and caramel. I gave it to her and she said “so what did you all throw in here?”. um. cream, vanilla, and caramel???
nicathor70 points1y ago
Still better than the one's who get huffy and demand cream after you pointedly asked them *3 times* at register if they wanted any cream or sweeteners in their coffee

Lmao honestly like today I had a lady ordering an Americano or a hot coffee or something. I forget exactly which one it was. But she ordered it and then as she was at the register ordering it, she looked behind her which is exactly where the condiment bar used to be and she saw that there was no more stuff there anymore besides just napkins and straws and my coworker on register asked her if she wanted cream and she said no. Then when she gets handed her drink, shortly thereafter she comes up to me on bar and tells me that she wants cream. I don't understand the minds of these types of people. Also as a side note, I was on bar today and some lady literally straight up asked me for some mustard and some salt packets. And also while I was on bar making drinks clearly because this person was staring at me, they come up to me on bar and they tell me that they're waiting for their coffee cake. Okay lol
Edit: misspell fixed

Tbf sometimes I think “todays a black coffee kind of day” and then it’s… not. 😭

Oh man, awesome question. Right up there with my current favorite "do you know where the restrooms are?" No I'm not allowed to pee.

No classic!??? 😱

Understatement of the century, right there.

Isn't it easy to throw them bags with the thread instead of these? Because I have to touch my food or waste a spoon/straw to remove these.
May be I'm the "average intelligence" customer base you mentioned.

Nothing wrong with wanting to remove your teabags. These are neat, but wouldn’t help for anyone wanting to remove the teabags. Which is a normal thing to do.
djdementia38 points1y ago
Tea should only be steeped for 3-5 minutes, you need a fork or something to remove these.
celloqueer103 points1y ago
Be honest—most Starbies customers don’t remove the teabags.
Punloverrrr40 points1y ago
There's probably even some who eat those too, you never know
StarbuckianDee16 points1y ago
Ya knowww, better get their money’s worth. The cup might also be consumed too. Lmao!
Punloverrrr2 points1y ago
Hmm probably 😂. Forget about aliens walking among us, we need to look into goat people or satyr's!
BatWeary10 points1y ago
honestly after watching my strange addiction, i wouldn’t be surprised

Those tlc shows are wild, those people need to be in zoos! (Not the medical condition ones, just the wacko people) I remember one show where these people loved and had sex with inanimate objects, one guy his car, this woman had a thing for fences and another woman had a thing for amusement park rides

I’ll just take warming over bar all day. I get mad if I have to mess with teabags period.

The other day I was making a venti cup of tea with some honey. I opened the tea bags and had them hanging on the side (and tucked under the lip). As I tried to add the honey - which went all over my hands - one of the tea bags fell into the cup. I got it with the tongs and hooked it on the side but the tag was sticky now. So I grabbed another teabag to replace it and as I was putting it into the cup, the other tea bag fell into the cup. I pulled that one out as well and then poured some water and both teabags fell into the water. It was so frustrating and took me forever to make a cup of tea. I finally scooped the sticky honey covered teabags out only to have my SM tell me to remake the whole thing again because it was a mess. This time I added the honey first and then the teabags. One fell in again and I just left the f**king thing in the cup. I don’t have time to keep fishing out bags and trying to add honey from sticky little packages to it.

omg that sounds awful 😭😭i’ve had so many similar experiences where the teabag would rip open while i was taking off the string, and the all the contents of the teabag would fall into the drink, and then i would have to start all over again. and then the customer complains why it’s taking so long 🤦🏻♀️
-Zispy7 points1y ago
But then how does the customer remove it? If you leave it in it gets gross and bitter.
Decent_Wall138035 points1y ago
like the customers
