What happens if my store has to close due to a staffing shortage? (self.starbucksbaristas)

Long story short, our amazing manager left (and by amazing, I mean, REALLY amazing). Since her absence (mind you, only about a month right now), the store started to spiral downhill. Our DM really sucks and doesn't seem to care much about us, and the same can be said about our proxy-SM, who refuses to turn off mobiles even when we continuously run on a 4-person play on peak (we usually have 6-7). We are running out of openers, and sometimes the closers aren't consistent. This week alone, 3 people put in their two weeks, while a shift (which we now only have 3 out of 4) is also planning on doing so.

Will our store close down, or will they just shift our hours? We have almost half the partners left on our team than when I was originally hired. And if we DO close, do I get to choose what store I transfer to and what my availability will be?

This sounds like my store O_O

Our SM left roughly a month ago and our interim SM is...well they are there. Sometimes our Interim SM is great and others they are awful. Part of it is the stress from having to deal with the -entire- staff never having been trained properly and part of it is probably the 1.5 hour drive from their home to the store 5 days a week...

But I digress. We have severe coverage and scheduling issues to the point where we closed 2.5 hours early last night after 3 weeks of running 2 partner plays.

Mobiles have only been shut off twice in the past four weeks and over half our staff either put in their notice or just left with no notice. (I don't blame them, if I had other options I would bounce too)

We are constantly understaffed and overburdened. Our SM sounds like they care but it's all mostly lip service and our DM couldn't care less about how difficult it is.

From experience I can tell you very little changes and very little gets done. I have closed the Cafe without asking before because how can 2 partners possibly run the Cafe-and- mobile -and- drive through?

I can't turn mobile orders off but I sure can lock those doors and print a sign saying drive through only.

will your store close due to staffing issues? no ! if anything your DM is required to work closely with your SM or ASM and get the store back in good standing partner wise. but no the store wouldn’t close for the lack of employees that’s when borrowed partners come into play especially within the same district. ik you mentioned the DM sucks but they’d have no choice but to step it up at the point including your SM!
