Not at all! It takes a few months to get your sea legs. I've been there 6 months and make mistakes. Go easy on yourself. It takes a lot of time to find you way. It will all click. Always remember, it's just coffee.

We all make mistakes even after a long time. It happens less often and you shrug it off more because you realize it’s not a big deal. You’re not bothering anyone by asking questions - and if someone is bothered it’s a personality issue not a you issue. Another month from now and you’ll be helping the next green bean telling them it’s okay when they make a mistake.

Your manager should not be talking down to you - the general consensus is 6mo to a year to get very proficient. There's a ton of things to remember and lots of things to mess up on. I make some mistakes every single shift! You're human, it happens! As long as you aren't consistently ONLY making mistakes and you're trying to learn from them and remember what not to do, you're on track!!
You've got this!! 😤💙

Don't stress about it cuz there are alot of duties for a partner to learn. The job of being a barista doesn't only entail making drinks so do not by any means stress urself that ur not that good or fast on bar cuz i see alot of new partners stressing about not being fast or good on bar. When i first started lol it was like trying to learn a new language that consists of different characters lol i learner to not be down on myself cuz i realized that every single barista at one point was where i was when i started off 2 years ago. So dont worry about a specific duty/task/station. It will become muscle memory and just try ur nest to not be down on urself about it 🙂❤️
I still sometimes have to ask how many pumps/shots sometimes when my brain stops, but the partners at my location are really good about it, even though I feel like I'm still annoying them sometimes lol
