Honestly, CS is my favorite position.
Front and food isn't just for newbies, at least at my store!
In the drive thru, make sure you're taking the time to read stickers and compare them to what's on the screen, even though it takes longer- its faster than remaking multiple drinks! If you're waiting on food, set up the drinks so that they're organized and ready to go when the next car comes. Even seasoned baristas hand out the wrong drinks sometimes though, so don't be too hard on yourself. You'll get the hang of it!
To get better at bar, you need to know the recipes, so study the right side of the screen on the POS, and try to recognize the patterns with types of drinks, shots and pumps of syrup for each size, etc. Also you just need time on bar. Ask your shift when you get on the floor if they can try to find a good time for you to bar during your shift. This can give them time to plan ahead, or to look for good opportunities to put a slower person on bar.
