That’s awesome. I’m still too nervous to come out at work even though my store is like super gay. I know they’d accept me and customers call me she anyway but I’m just too shy bout it. Seeing this post does give me some confidence though. Happy pride from one trans barista to another

Rn it’s ok, just awkward since customers will always call me she and ma’am and then a coworker will call me he. It’s just kinda jarring how customers can see it but my coworkers somehow can ignore it lol

My store has been so supportive, working at Starbucks as a trans barista has been so amazing. Even though I am an SSV, when my state started investigating families of trans youth and people who had previously transitioned under 18 (I fell into this category), my SM told me I could take whatever mental health days I needed and that she and the other SSVs would work together to get any of those shifts covered. They even gave me a little trans flag-coloured bear for pride month. Happy pride and CONGRATULATIONS!! 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍⚧️

Did you get pins? I am wearing my pins, updated my preferred name, and also texted the store my new name and pronouns. They are doing amazing.

You know you can add non standard pronouns in partner central right? Your manager might not appreciate that one but there is no restrictions that I know of.
