I have lupus and would be absolutely horrified to find out I worked with someone that had any kind of Covid symptoms, simply because they didn’t want to call in. Training is the easiest thing to reschedule. It doesn’t effect anyone more than the trainer, and they probably don’t care about an extra day off. Please don’t ever come to work with a fever. Your coworkers need to be healthy, too.

I don’t know if this is helpful but I just had my first day of onboarding/ training today so I’m gonna give my thoughts. I had to reschedule my training because of non sickness related issues and my manager was super understanding and unbothered. I honestly don’t think it will mess anything up as someone else said training is super easy to reschedule. Also in my training today they emphasized 5+ times to stay home if you are sick or have a fever or any type of Covid scare. My advice would be to tell them with as much notice as possible that you are having Covid symptoms/ a fever and don’t feel comfortable coming in when sick. It’s a key part of our job to not come in when sick so they should be understanding. And as someone else said try to get an at home test just to see if it’s Covid but either way you have a fever so you probably shouldn’t be working even if it’s not Covid related. I wish you luck and I hope you enjoy working at Starbucks when you do get to start training!

With Covid still around, definitely reschedule if you still have a fever on Tuesday night. Also take a Covid test. Don’t risk getting other people sick just to come in a few days earlier.

i absolutely would take a covid test but unfortunately i am still 17 and in my state you can’t get a covid test unless you have a parent/guardian with you. my parents won’t take me to get one and i don’t have any available adult figures in my life to come with me. although maybe i could go to the pharmacy and get one of the at home ones? i’ll try to do that instead.

I would do that! I’m sorry you’re not feeling well. But your body needs to rest and your coworkers will thank you!

Just call the store and talk to the store manager. They should understand. If they aren't understanding then ypu shouldn't be working there. Yes a fever could be a number of things but no matter what it is you don't want to be getting others sick
