How do I use the trans healthcare benefits? (self.starbucksbaristas)

The family members I’m living with aren’t supportive so I can’t really ask them, but as far as I know Starbucks helps to cover the cost of transgender affirming procedures yeah? How exactly do I use those benefits? Do I just give the card for my healths saving account when I pay and is it just used from there, do I have to tell my doctors or something? I’m still pretty new to actually doing adult things so I’m kinda lost. Can anyone help me out?

Call advocacy and tell them you are a trans partner trying to learn more about the health benefits offered. They’ll set you up with an advocate who will be your contact and walk you through access and requirements for care

Will I need like a primary care physician or anything or do they just walk me through everything?

It will depend on what you’re seeking to get covered. Everything requires at minimum a clinical diagnosis of gender dysphoria, which any MD or NP would be able to provide.
