We have recently been having this debate at my store whether pike or dark roast goes in a cafe misto. And no one can find it in the recipe cards so we thought we’d take it to Reddit.

I'd just ask the guest what roast of coffee they prefer. If not specified go with Pike

pike is the default roast so id say pike

Coffee master in training here, always Pike. Dark roast coffee is designed to be consumed black and doesn’t pair well with all types of milk. But make the moment right and always ask your customer. I’ve noticed a lot of customers recently think whole milk is the default for misto and get upset when it’s 2%.
