Customer who loves to lie and argue(self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Ok_Administration513
So there’s a customer who comes in every now and then asking for a bunch of our FROZEN chocolate chip cookies, we turn her down every time because we can’t and after telling her no, she then wants to speak to my manager of course. My manager repeats what I just said and she argues with us for about five minutes straight saying “well the other Starbucks does it” or “you guys always do this for me and you guys have done it before” no, we haven’t. Idk if she may not remember all the times I’ve seen her say the same thing before to me and my managers. At this point idk how else to deal with her. She is extremely rude and insults us but never enough to ban her. Any advice?

Your manager should know there are ways to give her the cookies without the hassle. They just need to be properly pulled from inventory like the above comment says. We have 5 or 6 customers that come to town from their rural mountain community monthly for supplies and they always stop at our store for frozen pastries and coffee. We also give them grounds for their compost. They arrange pick up times with our store manager & their names are written on boxes of food in the freezer.

You can always file an incident report after the situation occurs. If you file enough against the same customer and she has a Starbucks account or membership, then Starbucks will contact her. Or your DM will give you the “go ahead” to ban her as you have supporting evidence. The reason you can’t sell frozen product is because we’re no longer suppose to do emergency food pulls, or pulling large amount of frozen food outside the 18hr and 3hr pulls. However, if you see her again you can always say “come back in 5 days and we will sell you a box of frozen cookies”. You can contact LSR and have it pull from your inventory correctly and ensure your store receives extra delivery of the product. Contacting LSR is pretty easy but you def would need to have your ssv or manager deal with it.

Why can't you sell her the frozen ones?

I’m not 100% sure but I’ve heard food safety for some reason and that’s it’s not actually put in the system just yet where we could sell them because inventory reasons but I’ve asked this question too and these were the only answers I got :/

Okay well, bullshit. Food safety is not relevant to completely cooked food that is shelf-stable. And literally all you have to do for inventory purposes is note it as an emergency pull on IMS.
We sell frozen pastries to customers all the time who buy a few at the beginning of the week and keep them frozen to thaw for snacks over time.

Yeah :/ I feel like my sbux is super strict but only strict when it comes to certain things which isn’t fair and they give us false info all the time
