Still getting paid 12$ an hour??(self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Lucius_Ds
I think I’m still getting paid 12 and hour?? Ik there was a rumor we start getting paid 15$ an hour in June but I’m not getting paid that. And I’ve been working before may 2nd so am a bit confused if the days I worked last week count as 15 or not. I worked 2 days on last week of may also.

Effective August 1st partners hired before May 2 2022 will get either a 3%, 5%, or 7% raise. You’ll get a 3% raise or $15 an hour (whichever is more) if you’ve worked less than two years. Partners that are “tenured” or have worked 2-5 years will get a 5% raise. If you’ve worked more than 5 years you’ll get a 7% raise.

The initial announcement said $15 sometime in the summer. People just assumed they meant the beginning of summer. They clarified in a recent update that it would go into effect in August. 🤷

To keep up with inflation we would need at least 8% on the lowest tenured employee. So regardless of the raise now, we are all making less than we did as of last year. My 15 year old is being offered $1 more an hour than a new barista at her first job, and it's a simple cashier job.
