I recently tried a lavender latte at a little hole-in-the-wall coffee shop and it is my newest obsession. It has such a pleasant botanical flavor without being sweet or overpowering. I wish Starbucks offered a lavender flavored syrup or something close because I’m about to bring a bottle to work and start making them for myself! Has anyone else tried a lavender latte, and what did you think of it?

Starbucks needs to jump on the lavender syrup train! Nearly every coffee shop in my town has lavender syrup except for Starbucks

in the Regional and Testing spot of the POS there’s a button for lavender and rose flavored coffee which makes me hope we might get that soon!

I make the syrup at home and it is so good in a London Fog as well.

They’re testing it regionally so I’m hoping they decide to add it everywhere eventually.

the coffee shop i work at has both lavender and black berry. i love lavender with my whole soul. it tastes wonderful on its own in a latte, i mix it with white mocha sometimes and with HONEY it is soooo good. my favorite right now is a honey lavender latte with oat.

This is why I love smaller shops. A shop my ex worked at made their own rose syrup, and one in my town makes their own lavender syrup. Lavender vanilla oat lattes are my favorite! Also been to a specialty roasters that used bee pollen as a garnish?! It was amazing.

That’s my favorite I get from my coffee shop! Do you have the recipe for how you made the lavender syrup?
ProfessionalRock79401 points1y ago
I kind of just wing it!! Most syrups are equal parts water and sugar (or in this case water and honey). I made a small batch because I didn't have a lot of honey.
1/2 cup water - bring to a boil Remove from heat and mix in 1/2 cup honey Add 2 tablespoons of dried/culinary lavender and steep for one hour (stir every 15 minutes to make sure honey dissolves)
Thats it!!!
