Is there supposed to be a large space in the cup when someone orders with no ice, or do you just add more of each ingredient/fill the milk to the top of say an iced espresso?

more of each ingredient/milk
Aurora_Boreallis22 points1y ago
Not for an iced espresso. That should not be filled they aren’t being charged for milk they should be charged for a latte at that point

ok thanks that’s what I thought but wasn’t 100%, I have a partner who keeps leaving the gap & it’s pissing customers off lol .
echowolf924 points1y ago
If they want milk to the top of an iced espresso then it’s a latte.
Aurora_Boreallis7 points1y ago
Yes exactly! The max amount of free milk an iced espresso should get is a shot glass full of the milk of their choice
AdamAce37 points1y ago
I don’t fill it up if it’s a shaken espresso.., even with light ice… to keep the ratio, but I will if they ask
PIEDBE12 points1y ago
You’re supposed to fill it up all the way for shaken espressos. Per a weekly update awhile back.
Even though at that point it’s just a latte but, ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
wormybabybabu2 points1y ago
They actually had another update about that and it's only if the customer asks, we are supposed to let the customer know it effects the flavour of the drink when they order light ice extra milk
PIEDBE8 points1y ago
I wish Starbucks would make these things more known. Instead of putting them in tiny blurbs on weekly updates that not everyone has the chance to read.
wormybabybabu6 points1y ago
Yeah. Like instead of it being in the weekly updates (which I actually do like reading) there shoudl be like a notification that partners get when they sign in that a recipe changed
Tvdrone162 points1y ago
Starbucks standard is to fill to top, so just load it up with milk if they don't specify extra other ingredients
poopylilbutt2 points1y ago
Define large space. I fill to the indentation at the top of the cup.

at my store we have a lot of customers who ask for it filled up so we charge them for the milk if its alternative 😄
mission-accident9751 points1y ago
former partner here old baristas will leave a gap because they are grumpy and bitter towards customers do you leave a gap ? I mean you can or you could just add more water milk foam or whatever the drink is made w
aee781 points1y ago
Iced espresso is different than other drinks. They don't pay for any dairy, so you would not fill the cup entirely up. Other no iced drinks would be a full cup though.
elainafromthemoon1 points1y ago
i just do more milk.
cthelightinub41 points1y ago
I’ve read on the cards that you’re supposed to fill it up with water when it’s no ice but I’ve never followed that. Like others have said it’s just more of the ingredient unless if it’s an espresso it’s a latte
Mickey_Fan511 points1y ago
Are we supposed to charge for adding more milk or whatever liquid to fill the gap of not adding ice?
Aurora_Boreallis1 points1y ago
Depends on the drink. Latte, shaken espresso or like pink drinks no. Iced coffee, cold brew, or iced espresso yes. Iced espresso is to be charged as a latte. Because that’s what it is.
5AV1OR1 points1y ago
No additional charge
Decent_Wall13801 points1y ago
i don’t think so, it didn’t say to in the weekly update about it
