partners with glasses: help!! (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by lovey12120
so i recently ran out of contacts and i don’t prefer to wear my glasses because the last time the prescription for my glasses was updated, it was 2018 lol and they’re not ideal for working, especially at starbucks where i need to be on top of things. i always wear contacts to work because it just makes mobility faster and i feel slow when i wear glasses anywhere. it looks like, though, that i need to wear my glasses and ig i need to make do, so to partners who wear glasses, what are your tips for wearing them at work?

my main concern is getting them to stay on my face because they usually fall off due to oiliness so i wonder how i can keep them on during like a rush when my face might get sweaty. also how do i keep them clean, especially if syrups or things splash at my face and i assume i can’t really pause during a rush and wipe my glasses off haha.

anyways, any suggestions would help and be appreciated!!! <3

If your glasses keep falling, its a clear sign they need adjustments. Try going to a optical store. Usually they dont charge for a few tweaks.

I have a nose piece on my glasses so there's no slippage and honestly, my glasses never get too dirty after even the busiest shift.

In the even there is syrup that goes haywire, run them under warm water and air dryer wipe on clean shirt (never paper towel).

i read somewhere that running the arms under hot water will let you bend them to fit looser/tighter. i don’t remember which is which but it’s up or down, not in and out

Tie a slip knot on two sides of a string/cord (leather or hemp or whatever you've got), hook the knits around the stick ends of your glasses, tighten. Adjust string length to improve the fit. You can have it a bit loose or appropriately snug against the base of your skull. This typically works pretty well.
