Getting hours has become super frustrating (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Effective_Hippo_3344
So last week I talked with my SM and they said I could have more hours “if you work harder” (which has been reflected in the schedule for the next two weeks), but every time a SSV offers me hours that I can and am willing to work, I get a text back after I say I can come in saying “Oh [Insert SM name here] would rather have [other partner] take that shift, sorry hope you understand.” Do I have a right to be frustrated??

transfer. that behaviour is so unprofessional and unnecessary. what’s the point of having someone who WANTS to work and then not letting them work in the first place??

That's extremely messed up. They shouldn't be offering it to you if they're just going to yank it away like that. It doesn't sound like you're very respected.

If I were you, I'd maybe see about picking up shifts at nearby locations, then maybe trying to transfer.

Have the SSV offer it in shift marketplace and then claim it. It’s your shift then.

Regardless of your work ethic you should still be getting hours. Seems like favoritism to me

Yea i mean their SSV offered OP the hours and then has to text OP and tell them that their manager wants another barista to work that shift...definitely sounds like favoritism towards the other barista(s) from the managers end
