Do you guys serve out of your food case(self.starbucksbaristas)

With the heating coming in crazy this year & trying to keep the gnats gone, I remember last year or the year before they were really pushing for us (license) stores to serve out our food case. Is that still a thing?

Unless you have a refrigerated case, you should not be serving out of it

Noooo, we used to do the pastries if it was the last one AND if the customer was okay with it. We stopped though because we noticed a fly in there one time.. I’ve been meaning to see if there was some sort of policy about this but it just doesn’t seem like the best idea…

At my store, we do all the stuff you said, except we make sure that we clean it every night/morning so we only sell out of it if the customer is okay with it. Of we spot a fly or anything, we put up a note on the case to not use anything in it. So recently we haven't been selling out of it because we spot too many flies, but any other time it's up to the customer (we explain that it gets remade every morning)

When I was new I did once or twice by mistake (only pastries, NEVER the sandwiches), but after being there and seeing the behind the scenes of the case enough times I wouldn’t dare serve from it. Strictly for display in my opinion

I would never serve out of the case. Not just because of the refrigeration mentioned by u/dazedandconfusedhere but also because of the flies we have.

Really? I mean we never serve the food so I don’t see the issue. I guess maybe if it’s standard to serve some of the food I can defiantly see why it’d be every day.

If it’s only been out for a couple hours, it’s our last one, and the customer is okay with it then yes. We also don’t have any bugs or flies in our case. Hard no if we did.

We had someone order a plain bagel and after realizing we were out my manager got the one from the food case and reheated it, it was only in there for around three hours but that's the only time I've seen it happen

y’all don’t serve out your pastries from the case?? we always serve out our case first so we’re not dumping everything every night
