are we supposed to know exactly how the app works? (self.starbucksbaristas)

almost everyday a customer comes in telling me the app wont let them log in or connect a card and ask me for help. i dont know what to do because usually its just some error telling them they have to reset their password and it doesnt work so i ask another partner to help instead and then the customer gets upset with me. the only thing i know about the app is scanning and using stars.

Same lol i have no idea how the app works besides scanning and the stars. I dont kno all the technical stuff or how to fix it cuz i dont use it, i didnt create the app and im not an IT tech

Lol right, like we are hourly paid employees. We don't get trained on the app and all the technical stuff

I try to help if I can but if not I always hit them with “Sorry the app is all managed by corporate and not by us here’s the 1800 number you can call for help”

i definitely feel like there should be some light training on it just due to the amount of questions we get asked but i also feel like the app is mad user friendly and pretty easy to navigate in the way if you went on it once you’d get the just

It's always having to log back in, whenever the app updates sometimes it kicks people out and they have to log back in. God forbid you have a way to remember your password or maybe even look at your phone before pulling the app up. It's not my problem you don't know how to work this shit, I just make drinks.

I don’t think they train us on it, but I’ve been using it prior to being hired, and I also have my partner card connected to it, so I just show them. It helps with tips ngl

i had a lady come in and ask me how to play the Starbucks summer game (the one that was like candy crush) and she wouldn’t leave until i showed her how to do it myself 🙈
