For me it's easier to remember shots on a scale from Short to Trenta than the way it's explained in training, because Venti Iced is the only one that ever changes from hot to cold.

When I'm on bar I'm doing totally fine until a flat white sticker pops out. Idk why but that damn thing confuses me every time. Feel ur pain

Iced v fw has always been 4 because iced v latte is 3. Hot v fw is 3 because hot v latte is still 2.

Iced venti drinks always get an extra shot of espresso no matter which drink it is.

Edit: Sorry you guys are right. I forgot about the americano when I was writing this. Venti iced americano gets 4 shots.

yeah you missed something lol flat whites get an extra bc they’re ristretto, making them less volume per shot so you need an extra to make up for the lost volume

i remember flat whites as being +1 shot ristretto, americanos are the same (+1 shot) but not ristretto.

I didn’t figure this out until after working at Starbucks for a few months tbh and even two years later I question it every time I queue a quad for a flat white lol

Flat whites get an extra shot (one more than you would normally put in for a latte) no matter the size or if it’s iced because ristretto shots are pulled with less water so they’re smaller and you can fit that extra shot in there! I hope this was helpful :)

yeah, since venti iced normally comes with 3 shots for any drink, with flat whites, shaken espressos and americanos it gets an extra shot so that would be four.

I was trained by a barista champion and she explained it as ristretto needs to be pulled at two shots or more due to how it pulls, so the shot ratios are s2 t2 g3 v3 and if it’s iced t2 g3 v4

If they haven’t changed standards fw also get one less pump syrup than other drinks

Ironically enough, I’m still a new barista, but I love training someone else on how to make these cause everyone just looks at me like, “dang, he does know coffee”
