Oh maybe what u should do is when the manager is on bar & you are as well, with someone else around just play dumb. Say something like “a tall americano gets 2 shots right?” And the person next to you will confirm. & hopefully ur manager will just go along & realize. If your manager says something like “no it gets 3” just be like “hang on I’m gonna check the pos/ recipe card to confirm”

Then it’s like ur checking yourself- but also checking ur manager

That's a clear double standard though. Sure, the SM should make sure everything is running smoothly and things are being done correctly. However, if they themselves mess up on basic recipes...pot. kettle. ...

Howdy again ryan I recommend the classic approach “wow i thought a tall had just one shot?” or something to that effect and see what they say. I always phrase it as a question and not an accusation!

My go-to is to ask for the recipe cards. If they ask why, just say that it's for your own review purposes. And when you're done, you can ask them directly with the proof they're wrong in your hands.

Don’t be afraid to coach anyone:) even a manager can be coached. Nobody is perfect and if your manager is good they will accept the help.
