Will a resume help with my barista application?(self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Superboy2_0
I'm applying to be a Starbucks barista and I'm trying to apply. I've finished the application online but haven't submitted it yet because I don't know if I should upload a resume. I am currently a college student with no experience and barely have any skills, at least any tangible ones. I know that I can submit the application without a resume but I believe that uploading a resume will help my chances of getting hired. Will uploading a resume truly boost my chances, or can I just get by without a resume?

i had an empty resume as well going into Starbucks, i still made one and just put a lot of stuff that doesn't typically go on resumes (community service work, high school extra curriculars and my roles in them, i even got a parent that i used to babysit for to let me use them as a reference) and it worked well for me :) employers usually like seeing when people try even if there's not much to show, I'd say go for it!

i felt that the online application pretty much covered the experience i had (starbucks is my first job so i only put in school/volunteer activities), so i didn’t submit a resume . got a call two days later , interview the day after , and got hired at the interview , so i wouldn’t worry about a resume !

you should definitely have a resume added to any application. any experience close to work, just slap it on there. helped at your church? good, put it on. did extracurricular clubs in high school? put it on there. embellish what kind if teamwork skills you learned! did you participate in a single club event one time sophomore year? well nobody is going tk check so just say you did multiple. usually the skills theyre looking for in people with no experience is the ability to communicate, work as a team, leadership, all that :) you can pm me if you want any help!

I believe you need a resume to finalize your application, idk if youd be considered without one. Google how to write one, Google docs has plenty of good templates

Alright, but my issue isn't that I don't know how to write a resume; I just don't have much to add to it.

It’s ok to not have a resume. They often still call you in for an interview. I recommend sharing why you would be a great fit for the company and they ask scenarios relating to the job. You will do great! Also I can help you write one if you’d like :)
