This might sound dumb but I have huge anxiety over the fact that messed up with a trash run. Are there consequences / what to expect with the consequences? (self.starbucksbaristas)

At my location the same truck will pick up both sometimes and they "separate them at the plant"
groovydoll 7 points 1y ago
haha I’m sure they do. I feel like it’s all just so the trash fits better? idk if that’s tru

Happened multiple times. We get fines if it happens from the city but you did it ine time? Big whoop and at least now youll prolly never do it again
s_blossom 6 points 1y ago
You’ll be fine it probably won’t even come up
deeciphered 4 points 1y ago
My store doesn't even have recycling so everything goes in the trash where I work which really sucks
PerspectiveCapable98 4 points 1y ago
Honestly you should be fine any time I mess up I just let someone know just so it doesn’t seem like I’m trynna be sneaky but it’s a mistake and u we’re out a while I’d expect them to have some leniency

You might annoy the binmen & if they’re annoyed enough they might tell the council (or your version of local government) who will ring your Starbucks & usually threaten to stop taking your bins (they won’t actually but it is likely to piss off your SSV who has to take the call. I have gotten that call). They might post or mention to everyone the issue but I doubt anyone is going to care enough to check CCTV to figure out who it was/they wouldn’t fire you for it. They’d just be a little annoyed. I personally would have just grabbed the trash out & switched the bins, maybe bringing out a stool to stand and grab them.

If it happens again, you need to fix it or tell an SSV because if it’s an ongoing issue you will seriously piss off your waste disposal people and they’ll start refusing to take your rubbish, it will pile up & everyone will get incredibly stressed.

It’s okay babes don’t stress

Nobody gives a fuck lol what is your manager coming out to check the trash or something
RottenFries 3 points 1y ago
they wont notice it was you lol. The truck will come around and when they see trash in the cardboard dumpster (if they do), they will warn the store (which might not happen either), and by then they have an entire week of trash runs that could have caused this. They wouldn’t be able to pin point thay it was you who did that

Everyone makes mistakes when they start a new job, but it’s about how you respond to them. If you learn from that and dont do it again, well then you’re fine
floofxs2 2 points 1y ago
They just don’t want people being stupid and not separating the trash out of laziness. It was an accident. If they say anything you just say the truth you didn’t notice the dumpsters were in the opposite places - but more likely than not no one is going to even notice a few bags mixed up as a mistake.
drinkliquidclocks 2 points 1y ago
Nah no one cares, don’t do it again but not a big deal it was an accident
adventurelyfe 1 points 1y ago
What? Lol. No.
aShyVixen 1 points 1y ago
Lmao I forget the trashes like every night. I don’t get payed enough to care that bad. Fuck em. It takes like one minute to change the trash who cares. People so petty.
Paid-Not-Payed-Bot 1 points 1y ago
> don’t get *paid* enough to

FTFY.

Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:

* Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.*

* *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.*

Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.

*Beep, boop, I'm a bot*

That's terrible. You shouldn't fuck up the recycling on purpose.
