Question about mileage (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by sodakinq
Hey guys. So recently my hours have been cut to 11 hours per week “for the summer” and after trying to get it fixed, the solution that was presented was being able to go to any Starbucks in the district and pick up shifts. The problem is, the only Starbucks that have shifts available to pick up are like over an hour away from me. Would I be reimbursed for my mileage ? How do I go about doing that? Because I feel like the gas prices at the moment and adding mileage to my vehicle might not even be worth the measly 5 hour shifts I can pick up. Thank you guys!

If you willingly pick up shifts at a other location I don’t think you will get paid out for mileage. It’s only if your store is shut down for remodel or you’re picking up product I believe :(

Oh well it’s not like I even want to so that sucks. :/ I really wish I could just have the amount of hours that I need and signed up for at my own store but I guess it’s too much to ask.

So you’re paid .58 miles from the store you work at from your original store, so if your store is a mile away you’re gonna do .58 * 2 (because you’re gonna go back and forth and your ‘round trip’ is a mile) so you’ll be paid $1.16 (theoretically). You’ll also get tips, which if you’re at a high tip store you’ll luck out. My tips for the week were 77 for a 35 hour work week…

The amount is off of the national mileage rate, which has been changed to 62.5¢ per mile as of June 3rd. So it would be more actually!

Sweet!!! I didn’t know there was an update!!

Only if you are asked or made to work at another store. If you willingly ask for a shift, you don't get mileage.
Affectionate_Fart 1 points 1y ago
That’s not true.
As a borrowed partner, you get mileage. This has happened years ago and for the past month when I worked at a store I now transferred to.

You had Managers who didn't follow the correct policy. It happens.
