manager extremely cutting hours after i’ve already been scheduled ?? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by No-Tea2679
i’m a 368*****. i’ve been at sbux for 3 months and have been working about 15-20 hrs a week. all of a sudden my manager releases the new schedule and i’m scheduled FOUR hours. and i haven’t gotten a chance to talk to him bc he doesn’t allow us to contact him outside of his 40 hours, and i rarely see him. for the following week, he had me scheduled 8 hours… but i just got the notification that he removed one of those shifts and i’m back to 4 hours for a second week? literally what could be the reasoning behind this, especially removing a shift i was already scheduled for?? i just got rehired at my old job… should i just quit and go back to that full time?

What’s your availability like

i’m available thursday-saturday which is what i’ve been getting scheduled and my availability hasn’t changed since i started

That’s why you’re not getting scheduled. You aren’t available very much.

i work 2 jobs i can’t be available every day, and 3 days should be plenty to get part time 🙃 i’ve had a set schedule for the last 3 months and my hours haven’t changed. so i don’t know what happened.

In the perfect world 3 days is plenty of time to get part time hours, but it doesn't always go your way. You'll either have to adjust your availability to any time you aren't at your other job (which is what I do, and I'm frequently at 25+ hours) or, go full time at your other and quit/take what you get at sbux.

Usually you don't get a "set schedule" working at a corporate place, although it can seem repetitive for a while.

and that still doesn’t explain my manager deleting my shifts after he’s already scheduled me.

Corporate is telling sms to cut hours, so that could be the issue.
