under store resources you’ll go to train a barista and there will be activity guides that you can follow

Find out what kind of learner the trainee is. It’ll help you guide your lessons into easily understandable sections. Some like to listen, some watch, some hands on.

Congrats!!! I recently was asked if I’d like to be a trainer as well.
I have not done any training yet because this happened just a week ago so not sure how helpful this is but- you know your stuff your SM would have not let you become a trainer if you didn’t or if they didn’t think you would succeed.
In the past I worked at another coffee shop and basically did all of the training for the time I was there and if you’ve never trained it’s honestly really easy (imo) you’re just going to have a buddy for a little bit teaching them everything you know. What helped for me in the past is figuring out how they learn best and try and accommodate that.
Also make it a point to remind them there is no stupid questions and you don’t care if they need to be reminded what a drink is and how to make it. The more questions they ask the easier it is for them to get the hang of it. Let them know to not be discouraged if they feel like they are slow- the more they work it will become muscle memory and they’ll be able to just pull a sticker and instinctively make the drink without thinking about it.
Also make sure you encourage them- sometimes the job is VERY stressful and a reminder that they’re doing great can make a difference.
What was helpful for me when I was being trained at Starbucks was my trainer printed out this cheat sheet for me it had all the sizes and how many shots/syrups went in fraps, esp drinks, how flat whites were made other info like that. I have no idea where they found it but I’m pretty sure it was Starbucks official- so maybe see if someone in your store knows where you can find it or something similar.
Just take a deep breath and relax it seems overwhelming especially if it’s your first time ever training somebody but over time it becomes easier and easier :)

I’d also recommend asking other trainers at your store for some tips on things that worked for them. I did that before i first trained someone, and it was honestly really helpful
