Is it time to quit? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by I_just_wanna_be_frog
Hey guys, this is my first post. I have been a barista at Starbucks for almost a year. It has been my favorite job that I've ever had, but recently I have been having a slough of health problems that have made it difficult to work. I not only have arthritis in my feet that make long periods on my feet difficult, but now I am starting to have symptoms of hypersomnia and narcolepsy that I am having a neuropsych and a sleep study done to figure out what's going on. In the meantime while I wait for my appointments, I am starting to wonder if its time to hang up my apron and get a job that is not as intense. I had to leave work 2 hours early yesterday because of this and I am supposed to work Monday but I don't know if I can do it. What do y'all think? I am considering a fish store or a plant store to work at instead.

If you still enjoy working here and would like to continue working here in the future you could connect with your store manager about taking a medical LOA to get your health in order.
