That’s not cool. They are given a lot of non coverage time but not their entire shifts each day they work. My ASM work the floor and is sometimes key holder. There are days where my SM works the floor but right now she is dual managing as well as training another SM. We have plenty of SSVs and baristas to run the store but on days when we have call outs or short staffed for whatever reason and they are on non coverage, they will hop on when asked. They will also check in regularly to make sure we are ok.
