Rumor on the street is the batch had bones in them🙊
redditer987063 points1y ago
I came here to find the answers why. And see if we may have salmonella or something wild if we ate one lol
Forever__emo48 points1y ago
I read the comments on the hub. Someone called QA and they said possible listeria contamination
Upper_Midnight_104727 points1y ago
Well if this was true it would explain why I’ve been pretty sick for the past few days
Such_Yellow_333211 points1y ago
I’ve actually felt really two days after it but I also chick fil a the same day that had an iffy piece but who knows… all I know is I definitely had SOMETHING and now my stomach is in that weird eating cycle so it’s easy to get nausea from not eating etc. I’m so ducking over eating meat at this point 🙃
Such_Yellow_33323 points1y ago
I’m so sorry. I apparently wrote that drunk? Omg there’s too many errors but I’ll let you fill in the blanks 😂
Mattpilf8 points1y ago
I don't think so. They'd officially announce that if true. However the bones issue is very true.
sani_anra31 points1y ago
at my store we found blood, bone and cartilage🤠🤠🤠
kikuuq7 points1y ago
I did find a weird piece in one I ate, most likely cartilage u_u but im also used to finding pieces like those in mcdonalds chicken nuggets and from other places too, so I wasn't that alarmed
Responsible_Snow710941 points1y ago
About 10 hours ago, someone posted on r/starbucks a close up picture of the inside of the chicken sandwich and the chicken is literally like pink undercooked slime. And you could just tell by reading everybody else's comments about how violently sick they've been. It's disgusting and I'm glad I never had a chance to try it. I feel really bad for everybody else that tried it and got really sick. Shame on Starbucks
tinydesthique17 points1y ago
crazy how i ate like 5 of em, but im fine. maybe it’s certain batches but i won’t eat them again after this message lmfao
Responsible_Snow71094 points1y ago
Lol i havent tried it yet. I never get 30 minute lunch breaks because I always work 5 and 1/2 hours or 5 hours and 45 minutes so I'm always under 6 hours so I never get a 30 minute lunch break so I'm normally usually getting one 10 minute break each time I work. So I never really get a chance to eat anything like a sandwich or panini but since that sandwich was new I've been meaning to try it on one of my 10-minute breaks real quick just to give it a taste and on my day off the other day I was talking to somebody on here if you told me to try it with honey and sriracha and I was going to give the sandwich a shot today when I went back to work but I'm really glad I didn't and that it's been recalled because my immune system is kind of not too great but it's not the worst either so if I get sick I'm going to get really sick
anonbaristaandstuff6 points1y ago
I only ate a couple bites of mine because the chicken was so rubbery and slimey. Thank god I didn’t get sick because my immune system is super sensitive.
Responsible_Snow71093 points1y ago
Yea same! My immune system is somewhat sensitive too. Im picky with meats whenever im getting it from a food place. I will only eat think chicken tenders or steaks on the thinner side. Because thicker meats weird me out cuz idk whats all in the chicken when u break it apart ot cut it or watever. But yes thank god u are doing well 🙂. I feel really bad hearing about how plenty of others got sick or violently sick from it
Luna_Raccoona2 points1y ago
I got mildly sick from it. I had stomach cramps and nausea for the rest of the day, and through the rest of my shift. I thought I was being a baby…dman
Responsible_Snow71093 points1y ago
That is not ok! Starbucks has really honestly been dropping the ball hardcore and quality control. Seriously. Its been pathetic. Some lady complained about one of our hot lids and how it popped rite off and she was annoyed. But she barely left the counter and it didnt even spill. Shes whining and being rude because her lid popped off. The people that spill shit on them no matter wat are more nicer than her. If that's how she acts when all that happened was the lid popped off then I wonder how she would react if she actually spilled it on the ground or on herself. She would probably still blame us as if we are the ones that made the lid or as if we are the ones that are telling her to grab it from the top
Luna_Raccoona3 points1y ago
THE LIDS. none of them are staying on anymore. And we’ve gotten grande ice cups that were straight up melted together. It’s all just so gross. I don’t even eat anything except the bistro boxes anymore during my shifts, and even they have me nervous. I’m currently looking for a new job. So is everyone else at my store. It’s absurd
Responsible_Snow71093 points1y ago
Yea we have been getting some screwed up grande iced cups here and there. Like there's been a bunch of times recently where I would grab a grande iced cup to start making a drink for somebody and it would be too grande iced cups stuck together to the point where it would have taken the force of the Hulk to take it apart and I would try so hard to take it apart and when I finally did, my hands and fingers were hurting so bad. But yeah I don't even trust the bistro boxes anymore that we sell. Today before I left for work, I was just looking around to see what food I can Mark out to take home with me and I was looking at the rtde case and I saw the bistro box that has the sugar snap peas and the carrots and the chickpea avocado bites all in it and I saw that one of the sugar snap peas have mold on it like white and black fuzzy mold. So I ended up telling my shift supervisor and I ended up throwing it out. The date was still good but for some reason it just had mold on it. I don't trust any food from Starbucks anymore. I only work shifts that are just under 6 hours like 5 hours and 45 minutes or 5 and a half hours or just 5 hours so luckily I don't get a half hour lunch break because I wouldn't be able to eat anything anyway since everything there is so gross.
Accomplished-Bad385635 points1y ago
We hardly knew ye
5962596214 points1y ago
What happened
livinlikeluis [OP]57 points1y ago
IMS said they’re a quality issue and all that expire on October 14 and before must be thrown out because of “quality issue”
5962596210 points1y ago
Damn I'm at a licensed store so no wonder we didn't hear of it lmao
VintageD3vil19 points1y ago
Your manager still should have gotten a recall notice and they should be thrown out immediately. They were causing listeria and salmonella
TheOnesLeftBehind12 points1y ago
They have bones in them and people got sick
MeThinkethAShipeth12 points1y ago
Yo this happened to you guys too?? Anyone know why? My manager wouldn’t say
livinlikeluis [OP]16 points1y ago
The message from corporate just say “it doesn’t meet Starbucks standards”
TheOnesLeftBehind11 points1y ago
They had bones in them and people got sick
Glittering-Charge-832 points1y ago
people are getting VERY sick. some describe it as super food poisoning. but idk i had one yesterday and i’m fine 🤷♂️ jk jk i’m VERY glad we can’t sell them
Sad_Current_138310 points1y ago
Those were my favorite too. I had at least 3 of them.
trmbnplyr19932 points1y ago
I got lucky because I've had probably a dozen at least. Although the chicken was patty itself wasn't the best. It was a nice change of food choices.
Sad_Current_13831 points1y ago
It was really good, I loved it so much.
trmbnplyr19931 points1y ago
I also wasn't aware until reading these comments that there was more than just bones. That's the only thing I heard. But now knowing people were getting sick is just terrible. I'm curious to know just what did or didn't happend to allow all this.
Minkybun7 points1y ago
They honestly were an overpriced glorified middle school lunch
navkabar5 points1y ago
where does it say they were recalled? i told my shifts but we dont see it in the weekly update, is it somewhere else?
Have_Donut3 points1y ago
It is in IMS. There is a pull and discard order on the right hand side
littlekatie33 points1y ago
So disgusting
Able-Ad-32483 points1y ago
Supposedly had bones in them
martianmarcus1 points1y ago
Wow. My and three of my coworkers were testing it out for the first time and I spit it out it was just gross to me. Glad I did!
anonymousLO20161 points1y ago
What kind of sick?
mama_bibi0 points1y ago
It's so sad that much food is wasted. Like not even here. Our world is fucked up beyond all belief
maidofpuns7 points1y ago
It's different from the usual food waste this time, though. There's an actual food safety concern (unlike the usual food waste we have where perfectly edible food that just gets tossed out) and people are getting sick from this specific sandwich.
mama_bibi0 points1y ago
I understand its not safe to eat im just saying it's still real sad to see so much food just wasted. And im not speaking solely to the chicken sandwich. All over the world waste is a problem and with all the shit going on factories and farms it's just real sad for me to see animals in mass quantities die because we have gone from hunting to survive to mass farming for consumerism. Quality of product/meat plumit immensely when quantity is the goal. This might be too deep for this sub but that's where I'm at with it
