Interview advice? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by absolutelynoideaman
I have an interview tomorrow at 1:00 for a barista position, and feeling super nervous. I haven’t interviewed for a job in a long time!
What kind of questions can I expect, what should I wear (female), how else can I prepare?

Typically questions about how to interact with customers and your work experience. Talk about how much you love talking to people and crafting a special experience for them. Be prepared to specify how you would do this! Examples: Remembering customer names, enthusiastic and personalized greetings, asking them questions about themselves, etc. Sbux is huge on “creating the third place”. You can wear anything casual. I would skip a t-shirt and go for something like a button down or smart sweater, nothing too crazy though. The manager interviewing you will most likely be in a t-shirt and jeans haha. I would say, if you have the experience, have some work-related anecdotes lined up that you know highlight your ability to work with others as a team. Good luck :) you got this!

they ask about how you’ve solved problems before, why you want to work there, customer service experience, and also just some questions to get to know you!
