Food donation (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Own_Olive_5243
(Canada) How can Starbucks care so much about donating food to others when they can’t even feed their own partners… like I’m really out here waiting for extra accidentally warmed food or broken pastries or spending $5-6 after my discount to eat on my break. I just find it funny how 😐

Edit: in Canada we don’t get food markouts, only our free drink before, during, and after our shift, weekly coffee/tea markout and beyond that we can use our 30% discount but still have to pay

get close with your stores closers, sometimes they accidentally forget sandwiches in the fridge instead of throwing them out (totally accidental)

Lol I do close quite often and the closing shifts are chill and usually let us take stuff, but I feel guilty because it’s supposed to be donated

Tax write off for donations versus “missing” inventory. That’s why.

Ah that would make sense. Sucks tho, wish it was the same as the US

in canadian stores we don’t get food markouts, just 30%, free drinks before/after and during breaks, and weekly markouts on coffee/tea.
