Hey everyone, a shift supervisor here. I recently rejoined the company after being gone for about 5 or so months and was hoping for better luck with finding a store that was overall better than my last. Unfortunately I’ve been having issues with two partners who have been there four years . They will brag about how they got the last two SM fired and not follow standard. They also talk down everyone and it’s to the point that I switched to closing so I don’t have to hear the negativity anymore. I’ve notified my SM multiple times and their attitudes haven’t changed. They even admitted they think they are right and think they know how the store runs better because they have been there longer. They are overall just aren’t open to taken any coaching at all. The store has had high turnover with SM, Baristas, Shifts but the same two partners have stayed the longest because they get away with acting the way they do. I just found out that they are trying to get people to say I’m the worst supervisor and that I don’t know what I’m doing even though I’m constantly picking up after them and running around trying to do everything. They will talk and not do any station card tasks even when coached to do so. I don’t want to seem like a bother to my SM since I’ve already talked to him several times…what do I do :(. I’m honestly ready to leave the company again even though I love the job itself just not the people.

I would try to transfer or report them (go above your manager) maybe thr hotline

Make sure to write down the situations so that you have written prove when it happened and what the situation was I have 3 ppl like this as well they are 10 year partners tho if they didn't listen to me or were rude to my baristas I sent them home cause it wasn't the starbucks environment and then the SM came to me and asked why the window times were high and the store was dirty told them the situation abt the partner and they said that was good I did that and from there they talked to the partner amd wrote them up they were better after that

Wow, I’m glad you sent them home. I’ll definitely write it down and make a written statement. I actually decided to notify my manager one more time before going through the Ethics website. I’m hoping it’ll workout better this time because honestly these people are bullies :(

Yea it's not fair for new partners who deal with these ppl I personally stand My ground cause for me they made 4 pll quit because they got bullied from these ppl idc if they think they're the best if uts not a good work environment then I'll take the ppl out that don't make it good.partner care is so important and it's what starbucks is abt hope all turns out good don't let those partners win

Definitely keep detailed notes on all interactions with them and with the SM. Notes are your friend in these types of situations.

That's good now make sure to wrote everything that happens if it occurs I have a journal I write in to have it and the color thing won't stand ppl will end up speaking up

Go above the SM to the DM this if all else fails go to HR for ethics and compliance issues
