So I am a really calm person who doesn’t get annoyed or angered easily. However I’ve been told my tone sounds like I am mad when speaking even though I am not anyone have any tips? I am trying to make sure that I am not sound condescending by being too perky type of thing but still be nice about it. Also if someone is not listening I use a more serious tone so they know that they really need to listen. Any tips on that?

Don’t change who you are or the way you speak to people. Just reassure that person you are not upset in any way and you get that a lot but you mean no harm when you speak with dominance.

I do notice that if I have trouble saying something the word that I had trouble saying I will say not in my usual tone but I always apologize for it. Also a lot of partners say that they love working w me cause I never get mad so idk if it’s just the two people or maybe just that day or something but I did let them know that if they didn’t like the way I said something to let me know bc I don’t want anyone to feel upset

I also will try to soften my voice a bit or even apologize and but after awhile I just get the feeling people hate the truth. I will tell you what you need to hear. Not what you want. I mean no harm but they tend to take it personal.

I’ve been a shift for about a month now before that I was a barista for two years. My problem has always been my tone of voice when I talk to people. It’s one of the things that bother me because it makes me feel misunderstood. I have to constantly remind people I may be a little aggressive but I’m not an asshole or mean. Most people I work with appreciate my darkish sense of humor or bluntness and I’m often the go to for someone to vent at work. Once they get to know you and see who you are as a whole, it’s up to them if they can handle your personality or not. I feel like their just not used to ya yet🤣
