Job app process? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Wheelbarrow6
Sorry if this is a common question, I just didn’t know what to search for. I applied to a couple starbucks in my area over a week ago and the next day I got a reply from a manager asking me follow-up questions and if I could do an interview. I replied the same day and still haven’t heard anything back. Is this normal?

Hey OP, I recently got hired so I can explain how the job application process worked for me at my store. How it worked was I emailed my manager / applied, and then it took about a week and a half for me to get a response. My manager emailed me and did sort of an “email interview”. I responded the same day, but then it took 2 days for her to respond for me and ask for an in person interview. During the in person interview she offered me the job and said we have to do a background check, which took a few days for it to go through, and now I have orientation scheduled for next week!

So I think it’s normal that you haven’t heard anything back, maybe wait a few more days. My manager was inconsistent she took over a week to respond and then later she started responding like within hours of my emails, so I’d give it a bit more time :) a couple of the other stores I applied to just never got back to me, so the fact that you got a response is good!! sorry if I rambled a bit, good luck and let me know if you have any other questions because I was also very confused during this process 🥲🥲

Thanks so much! It’s just been stressing me out waiting for an answer but I guess that’s just the process.

Honestly I think it’s a case by case basis. I’ve been applying to Starbucks on and off since I was 16… (21 now). I recently got hired about a month ago, finally, but it took me about 2 weeks to get an interview. At the interview, I was hired and the background check was sent in…(takes a few days). It took three weeks to start tho… but I have had friends who have worked and currently work for the same store and their onboarding process did not take long at all…
