Am I allowed to work at a Target or a Kroger Starbucks while I’m an employee at a Brick and Mortar store? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Missjaneausten
My store isn’t giving me enough hours and I’m thinking of applying to either of the mentioned because it would mean I could get extra income without having to re-train for a completely new job; not to mention I could schedule my hours around my current availability. Just wondering if anybody else has done anything like this before. I don’t think it would compromise the Non-Compete clause I signed when I first got hired at Starbucks last year since I would technically be working for Kroger or a target retail store which really aren’t competing coffee shops.

To my knowledge, yes. I called corporate about this a while ago and they said you can work at other companies. ( including competing coffee shops ) as long as you aren't in any management position. But if you're concerned you can always just call corporate just to be sure.

I’m not sure the above answers are accurate. The Target and grocery store locations are not company owned stores and are licensed locations. Those employees are not partners.

It’s accurate. I had a partner who worked at the licensed store across from the parking lot of our corporate one. They worked mornings at my store and afternoons in the licensed store.
