Did the SCCCB recipe change? Did they swap out vanilla syrup with caramel or are they letting users control the syrup in the cold foam? (i.redd.it)

A while back they changed it so it gets vanilla in the cup and caramel in the foam
holdenwingo [OP] 11 points 1y ago
Is the vanilla syrup in the brew now an immutable default?
dlcksuck 5 points 1y ago
It’s been like that for I wanna say almost a year I don’t think they’ll change it but who knows. But you can always sub it for caramel instead

I’ve been using both the US and CAN app religiously for 3 years and I have never seen this setting. I have only seen the default set for vanilla syrup, not caramel.

The syrup has nothing to do with the foam. The Syrup you select in the app is what's going in the cup.

Salted Caramel Cold Foam is 2 packets salt and 2 pumps Caramel Syrup with VSC and blended.

Also the fact it says “water” do CAN partners not precut the cold brew anymore?
redbullgay 4 points 1y ago
I don’t have a direct answer but I’m at a starbucks in nebraska and i didn’t even know you could precut the cold brew?
nicolelynnejones 3 points 1y ago
i’m pretty sure cutting the CBIC before putting it in a pitcher or curtis is the newest standard but idk
abbye_a 1 points 1y ago
Just had a debate with a fellow shift on this. I say yes, my old store did it. She says no, not allowed with the cold brew taps. I say why not 🤷🏽‍♀️
nicolelynnejones 3 points 1y ago
Wait so how do you guys do your cold brew then? You have to cut it before putting it in the kegs right?
thehairqueen 1 points 1y ago
If the Canadian store doesn’t have nitro the cold brew it cut “per cup” although most pre cut it in pitchers. Nitro stores precut it in the tanks. I have had people order it with no water and I tell them that’s not a option at our store. (We have nitro)

At least in the US making any of the cold brews with foam or sweet cream all have vanilla 1, 2, 3, 4
Then whatever the foam is will be the standard recipe :)
Could be different for you because I believe you said your in Canada- but I’d honestly just look at the register and see on the right side what the amount of pumps are to be sure
caitlin_marie_gg 5 points 1y ago
no mine still says vanilla
holdenwingo [OP] 3 points 1y ago
i’m on the canadian app. i’m very confused 😓
xclariss 8 points 1y ago
it used to be caramel and then switched the vanilla if i remember correctly… maybe the app is not up to date? or maybe its as you said they can control pumps in the foam
Swimming-Fee-2445 3 points 1y ago

reclusivegiraffe 5 points 1y ago

Vanilla in cup and caramel goes in the foam.
Ordinary-Theory-8289 15 points 1y ago
All specialty cold brews get vanilla in the base of the drink.
maidofpuns 3 points 1y ago
Except Irish Cream [:
(But I'm guessing you meant non-seasonal specialty cold brews)

Is the Canadian recipe different from the US recipe?
