I ate the Maple chicken sandwich (self.starbucksbaristas)

So, I ate this sandwich on Friday 6/24 and I’m having a panic attack right now. Food poisoning is a HUGE phobia of mine. Would I have symptoms by now? I have had some stomach cramps for the past hour but I’m not sure if it’s related. What do you guys think 😭 fuck Starbucks

If you had food poisoning, you definitely would have had symptoms by now. Symptoms hit anywhere from 2-8 hours (on average) after whatever bad food you ate, but can be up to 48 hours in some people.

this actually makes me feel so much better 😭 i have chronic stomach issues and i’ve yakked a couple times since eating it i think 4 days ago but nothing like glued to the toilet bad. i wasn’t sure if it was from the sandwich or if it was just my stomach doing it’s thing 😅

Thank you 🙏

I had a piece and I was fine and so were most my coworkers. It’s not EVERYBODY who’s getting it just some people.

Thanks 😭 it’s so disgusting to think about

I ate one and had a stomach ache pretty immediately afterwards, like the same evening after eating it, so you’re probably fine if you’ve felt nothing thus far

Thank you so much

My manager checked to see what was wrong because we were sampling them to customers… basically there’s no reason to worry about food poisoning. There’s no health issue they just didn’t meet quality and presentation standards. At our store we were receiving some with no butter, some with 2 meat, others missing half a bun. Just a lack of consistency which would harm inventory and upset customers

I’ve seen a lot of posts about food poisoning?
WorthProper3289 3 points 1y ago
I’m sure it’s possible but from what we were told by corporate person on the phone is that it’s not rlly something to worry about and ppl shouldn’t be sick… but never say never right
b99__throwaway 3 points 1y ago
allegedly, someone got listeria from it but starbucks just doesn’t wanna come right out & say it’s food poisoning
BlackberryOpposite31 2 points 1y ago
You were sampling out the recalled sandwiches?!
WorthProper3289 1 points 1y ago
Hahaha yes because my store couldn’t access IMS to see the recall the day it was sent out… we immediately informed our DM though. You would think it would be more accessible information *sigh and shrug*
No_Paramedic7498 4 points 1y ago
ya that was five days ago you would of been sick in 7 hours or less
dreadheada 2 points 1y ago
omg I KNEW when I was told the sandwhich was recalled for “not meeting starbucks standards” something was wildly wrong. A lot of people at my store weren’t feeling well. But they didn’t get sick so I’m wishing you the best & that you don’t get sick!
mirajaneneko 2 points 1y ago
I got sick halfway through and threw it out. You’ll know instantly.

Thank you all for the reassurance!!

I ate two the days after the recall lol don’t worry. The issue wasn’t food poisoning it was bc if nerves and cartilage being found in it.

I think a lot of the “food poisoning” people are saying is just a placebo bc if it was actual food poisoning they would’ve said so.

I was fine after eating one…no pains or anything
she_who_walks 1 points 1y ago
You’d definitely have already had genuine for certain symptoms by now. I’ve had food poisoning once, there was absolutely NO question about it. If it’s been 4 days, you’re in the clear, no stress😊
