Today’s rant (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by cecilbdementd
For some reason experienced the weirdest customers solo DT-ing today and just had to vent

“Can I get (5 other drinks) and a grande iced caramel macchiato?”
*my bar partner absolutely slays these drinks gets them out in under 3 minutes*
“Um… this was supposed to be a caramel Frappuccino”
GIRL IT WAS NOT SUPPOSED to be a Frappuccino when you deadass ordered a macchiato!! I literally said “ok you said macchiato 🙃 but i’ll have that remade for you”
Among countless other instances today where people ordered one thing very specifically and then said “this was supposed to be…”
Ugh thanks y’all for listening and good luck out there

Some of em just say it was supposed to be this or that in hopes that u will let them keep the drink lol

Lol if its the mistake of the Barista on the register or if I made the drink incorrectly and it's my mistake then I will ask them if they want to take it and give it to someone else. But if they're the ones that tell me that it was supposed to be this or that or it was supposed to be iced and I know for a fact that they 100% did not say that then they're not going to keep it.

same same same. i know im only human and i make mistakes too but i also will not let myself be gaslighted by a customer trying to get a free drink by ordering it wrong on purpose 👿

Lol yea thats irritating. For a very small period of time last summer, we had a bunch of different young teenage girls always ordering a grande drink at the register and then saying "it was supposed to be a venti" at the hand off area. Like i kno wat u guys are doing lol

Same. Your super nice and we messed up extra drinks, bonus cake pops, stickers, whatever you want. You ordered wrong and I’m taking that drink back and charging you the difference for the correct one.

I would get talked to at my store by the shift supervisor if i tried to charge the difference cuz my main monday thru friday opening shift supervisor hates conflict or confrontation or anything weird or awkward so she lets people have shit. Like we had a long period of time where people were coming in and they were looking for their mobile orders and we find out that they placed it at another store. It was happening way way too often with people having more than one drink and more than one food and their order so we kept giving out a bunch of free products and with shortages, my manager changed up the rules a little bit and said that if they only have like one simple drink or something like that then we can make it for them free of charge at our store but if it's a couple drinks and a couple Foods then we have to charge them for it and they can get a refund whenever it's convenient for them from the other place. Well the same shift supervisor was on shift one day and it was super busy and it was morning time and this lady comes and is looking for her mobile order and she apparently placed it at another store after she looked at her phone and found out and I asked how many drinks she has in her order and she had five drinks in her order and my shift supervisor said it's okay and that we will just make it here free of charge. Like we were slammed with so many orders and people in the store and my supervisor just told me to start making it like what about all the other people that ordered before her

Always hated that. There were moments when I wanted to ask people, "Do you behave this way every time something doesn't go your way or is it just when you come here?"
