picking up shifts at other stores (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Alive_Combination691
quick question, i work at a store 15 minutes from my house and have no plan of transferring, however, there is a store about 5 minutes from my house that constantly seems to need staff. should i contact my manager to ask about picking up shifts there as needed, or should i contact the manager of the other store? or both? sorry if this is a silly question. ty in advance
side note: anyone else getting awful hours recently?

We’ve had partners come by and tell us that they are open to covering shifts and what their availability is/contact info. I also think letting your SM know you are happy to help when you can is completely fine. My SM frequently gives us notice about other stores in our district that need coverage. I know hours for all of us at my store have definitely been cut, but it works out for me because my full time job needs me to work more hours whenever I can, but I definitely feel for those who are not getting the hours they need :(

I’d go in and introduce myself. I’ve left a slip of paper with my contact info at a number of stores, and always get hit up immediately for coverage. Def let your manager know, just to be transparent.
