Paid LOA? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by sh3nan1gans_
I’ve been a partner for almost a year now. My mom (70s) has taken a bad fall and broke her hip, she will be Going through PT soon. I’m wondering, if there is a paid LOA? I’m wanting to take some time off to go help my mother out since my dad and brother work now. Her health has been really shitty the past few years; dealing with cancer, and other multiple health concerns. Any insight would be lovely! I don’t wanna do the LOA unless I can get paid for it

For you that would be a personal leave, I don’t believe you get pay for that

Try applying for FMLA it applies to caring for a family member that's sick or injured, I dont think sbux would pay you though it would be a personal leave of absence and only parental leave is paid if im not wrong.

You can if approved, but that's a big if. Its like pulling teeth to get my payments and im on medical leave. Maybe try the cup fund?

Your not getting a paid LOA for that. FMLA will protect your job through a LOA, but that’s it.

How much sick time do you have? You should be able to use whatever you have.
