Does anyone else get really confused when someone asks for an upside down caramel macchiato I get it, it’s easier to just order it like that but every time someone does I can’t help myself from wondering why they don’t just order a vanilla latte with caramel drizzle.
At the same time when people order a shaken espresso and then ask for the milk to be shaken with the shots… it’s just a latte at that point and now it’s foamy.
Again, I understand why to a certain extent… but it’s one of the little things that bothers me

Vanilla latte with caramel drizzle is more expensive than upside caramel macchiato.

Ring up a brown sugar oatmilk shaken espresso with extra milk and then ring up the exact same thing as a latte (for a venti, the shaken espresso version is around $2 cheaper than ordering the same thing as a latte).
As for the caramel macchiato, I can’t really explain that one…

That’s what I figured. I never actually did a price comparison like I did with the various shaken espressos and their latte compatriots.

I agree. I have one customer who wants it “no foam extra milk” and I got really annoyed every time I saw her until I thought “surely there’s a reason for this madness” and lo and behold, I’m 90% sure that’s why. Same when you see them order a shaken espresso and then modify the hell out of it—it’s so much cheaper to do that then just order it as an iced latte.

I had a delivery order come thru today for a grande regular shaken espresso. No syrup. But they added cinnamon and oatmilk. They asked for it upside down. 😐so i put oatmilk in the cup and then shook the shots and cinnamon together. But its always the deliveries that do the weirdest most outa pocket shit lol. (Not for the one i mentioned, just in general)
